OUR STORY
From Service to Solutions
After years of working with some of the largest technology companies and educational organizations across the country—from the National Afterschool Association to the Los Angeles County Office of Education—we saw a clear pattern: educational organizations needed more than off-the-shelf solutions.
They needed partners who understood both education and technology. Partners who could build custom systems tailored to their exact needs. Partners who would walk with them every step of the way.
That’s why we founded Expanded Learning Solutions.
We’re a small team working exclusively with schools, afterschool organizations, and educational nonprofits across the country—from California to New York, Alaska to Oregon. Our team of developers, trainers, and educational administrators brings decades of combined experience in expanded learning, professional development, and educational technology.
Led by founder Fred L. Jones, an innovative training and development expert with experience managing programs reaching over 150 grantees covering 1,600 afterschool sites, we’ve grown from 1,700 students to over 8,000 students in just two years—an increase of over 360%.
Today, we don’t just “deliver” websites, trainings, or products. We deliver capacity, confidence, and growth through three purpose-built divisions: Expand Site, Afterschool Guru, and Expand Partners.

Regional Program Manager
Provided technical assistance to over 64 summer camp sites with over 6,000 participants. Managed Master Trainers to enhance local programs from Camp Fire to YMCA, an increase of over 335% in 2 years.
Los Angeles County Office of Education
Project Coordinator
Provided professional development, coaching, and technical support to over 103 grantees covering 1,600 afterschool sites throughout Los Angeles County.
NYC Department of Education
Project Manager
Secured and managed approximately $43-million-dollar annually throughout 16 networks for youth development, family literacy, music, dance, art, and academic enrichment programs.
University of Southern California
Program Development
Collaborated with USC Fellowship Program to develop partnerships with school districts, providing teaching lessons with STEM strategic planning and evaluative assessment support.
STEAM Nation
Program Leader
Served as liaison for collaboration creating STEAM lesson plans tailored to programs in Los Angeles County Educational Foundations and Expanded Learning Math education.
California Afterschool Network
Managing Co-Chair
Co-chaired Virtual Support Center workgroup for the Power of Discovery STEM resource centers, developing statewide capacity building to support practitioner needs.
